The Kapo Syndrome

During the Second World War, the concentration camps operations depended on the cooperation of specially selected trustees, known as Kapos, who supervised the inmates.  These Kapos carried out the will of the Nazi camp commandants and guards, and were often as brutal as their SS counterparts, and many of them were Jewish. Like in every situation involving extreme circumstances there were people whose primal instinct of survival took over and they were utterly ruthless to ensure their own existence.  These people were sometimes far worse than the actual guards and were betraying their religion and the people they would have loved in an ordinary life.  For many, failure to perform their duties would have resulted in severe punishment and even death, but many historians view their actions as a form of complicity.

Nowadays we do not concentration camps but we still have prejudice and hate. While the Jewish population in the world is only 0.0025 of the world’s population, their contributions to society, literature, law, and science is vaguely recognized.  They produced the basic ideas for most common set of laws and followed strict monotheism which Islam and Christianity were derived from. They gave us relativity, socialism, psychology and also the cell-phones.  They were also the scapegoats for every illness and suffered massacres, Inquisition, ghettoes, expulsions, accusations of blood guilt, and the Holocaust.   With all that said Judeophobia or anti-Semitism still prevails in the 21^st Century.  The following is a conclusions page added with the kind permission of Dr. Gustavo Perednik. The conclusions are based on a twelve-lecture Internet course prepared for "The Jewish University in Cyberspace." It tries to answer the question "why the Jews?" - Why have Jews been particularly singled out for ethnic, racial and religious persecution, and it traces the relationship between anti-Zionism and racist Judeophobia or so-called 'anti-Semitism.'  

Dr. Gustavo Perednik overview of Judeophobia can lead to several conclusions:     

1.       Judeophobia enables people to vent their sadistic instincts. You can harass, humiliate and kill, and you have an entire ideological body, which is very established and dating back many centuries, to defend your brutality.

2.       When fighting the Jews, a much written about people, the Judeophobe feels more important than he would fighting a less famous group.

3.       As a group, Jews often arouse guilt feelings among Gentiles. This may be due to the fact that morality virtually began with the Jews' Bible, and as such Jews incarnate ethical prohibitions, or because of how they were persecuted (this fact can provoke not only feelings of guilt but also of fear, since revenge could eventually be taken.)

4.       Judeophobia is an intrinsically anti-rational attitude of a generally rational society. A Jew is attacked as such, and if other Jews react to this attack they are deemed "egocentric." The Communists (and also the BBC) claimed that they did not want to stress the “Jewish" aspect of the victims lest the defense would become too partisan. Regarding the last two attacks against the Jewish community in Argentina (the Israeli Embassy was blown up in 1992, the AMIA communal building in 1994, leaving almost one hundred dead), in both cases the Jews were accused of being the perpetrators in order to present themselves as victims. (No one was punished for either attack). Constantin Brunner's theory emphasized the irrationality of Judeophobia by claiming it is group-egoism in contradistinction to rational thought. But he disregarded that this irrational attitude is often expressed by very rational people, a fact which gives it further credibility. In the case of Voltaire, we said in lesson # 7 that Judeophobia could twist the reason of the most reasonable men. And in the case of Germany as a whole, Judeophobia flourished and reached its climax precisely in the land of philosophy, with the active support of leading thinkers, from Fichte and Wagner to Heidegger. Many Nazi ringleaders were intellectuals and artists.

5.       To add to the irrational aspect, the sources of Judeophobia are particularly hypocritical. Jews were burned at stake by the religion of love, slandered by the forerunners of enlightenment and fraternity, and discriminated against by the ideology of equality.

6.       Judeophobia is practiced on (at least) two levels. One is direct and aggressive, the other is subtle,, consisting of condoning the first level. In other words, you can measure a Judeophobic stance not only by how it relates to Jews but by how it relates to Judeophobes. If we take the case of the Church and its central role in the history of Judeophobia, we realize that its role was paradoxical. In his "The Prophets of Israel" (1892) James Darmesteter pointed out how "The hatred of the people against the Jew is the work of the Church (which) protects them against the furies which she has unleashed." Something similar can be said about Israel-bashing. The UN is not responsible for terrorism against Israeli citizens, but by repeatedly condoning it (and systematically condemning Israel) encourages the Judeophobe murderer to feel a partner with the international community in his struggle against Zionism.

Why Kapos?

It is natural that people who are being persecuted , were the scapegoats for every illness and suffered massacres, Inquisition, ghettoes, expulsions, accusations of blood guilt, and the Holocaust, some of them will develop some kind of self hatred and act upon this self hatred and perhaps as in any situation where brotherhood is present there will always be a type of person who commits selfish acts and turns their back on everything they believe in for acceptance by the  majority and some personnel gain.  The Kapo or in a more defined modern term, a self-hating Jew that acts against his people are very prominent today and cause a lot of harm to the Jewish people and to Israel.

In the United States and United Kingdom, the term "self-hating Jew" sometimes is used to accuse a Jew of hiding, being ashamed of, or failing to understand his or her religion or heritage. The phrase sometimes is used against a Jew who is considered to be actively working against the interests of the Jewish people, as those interests are perceived by the person using the term.

There are very few Germans who publicly denounce the Holocaust of the atrocities of the second world. There are very few Japanese who publicly denounce the Japanese atrocities of the second world.  There are very few English people who publicly denounce the deeds of the British Empire.  There are very few Moslems that actively denounce terrorism. However, there are plenty of Jewish people who denounce Israel and its actions, not taking into consideration that Israel is fighting for their survival. There are plenty of Jewish people who denounce Judaism publicly. There are plenty of Jewish people who denounce Jews and their organizations publicly.

Examples

There are no comparable self-haters in any other country except Israel, whose leftists have the same contempt for their country, nor among any other group except the Jews, whose Left also generally loathe the Jewish state. Israeli professors in the West are often the leaders in anti-Israel demonstrations and movements. Jews such as Professors Norman Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky devote much of their lives to trying to harm the one Jewish country in the world and express deep hatred of Jewish institutions.

There are many other examples for such people in our times.  Israel managed to survive and excel in sciences, research and balanced democracy,  while engaged in regular wars with an implacable enemy that seeks its destruction, and an economy continuously under strain by having to spend more per capita on its own protection than any other county on earth. . .. . . AND THE FRENCH AMBASSADOR IN ENGLAND SAYS : "ISRAEL IS NOTHING BUT A SHITTY LITTLE COUNTRY" This Ambassador was Jewish.

Numerous historians and Anti-Semites have looked into the 13th tribe issue and said that most of the Zionists are not descendants of the original Jews. Rather, most Zionists are "Ashkenazi Jews"; a race of people from Asia. The real, original Jews were physically and genetically similar to the Arabs, specifically, dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair.  This idea is being propagated by several prominent Jewish leaders. However, DNA tests results support the hypothesis that the paternal gene pools of Jewish communities from Europe, North Africa and the Middle East descended from a common Middle Eastern ancestral population, and suggest that most Jewish communities have remained relatively isolated from neighboring non-Jewish communities during and after the Diaspora. Jewish law tracing back almost 2,000 years states that Jewish affiliation is determined by maternal ancestry, so the Y chromosome study addresses the question of how much non-Jewish men may have contributed to Jewish genetic diversity. Despite the Ashkenazi Jews' long residence in Europe, their Y signature has remained distinct from that of non-Jewish Europeans. 

Rabbi Michael Lerner:
Lerner strongly objected to Israel's occupation of the West Bank. He supports the adoption of the Geneva Accords as a basis for an independent Palestinian State. That’s all nice but he still thinks the Jews there are not the same as the Jews here, as the Jews there are mostly Sephardic.  He also criticized some American Jewish organizations for labeling critics of Israel as anti-Semites.

Noam Chomsky:

He has made major criticisms of Israel including a recent statement saying that Israel is heading for destruction because of their warmongering policies.

And to The Lesser Extent

I have noticed personally the attitudes of “Modern Jews” towards orthodox ones.  No Christian has ever demonstrated visible and audible disliking attitudes to wards the Amish people compared to Jews towards their Hasidic brethren.  The strange fact is that both Amish and Hasidic, looks and dresses similarly.  I also have noticed that Jews do not help each other in work places; on the contrary they try avoiding perceived brethren and prefer alienation because they see themselves as completely integrated Americans and do not want to show any possibility otherwise. This is complete contrast to the Gentile’s perception about the “Secret brethren of Jews”.

Conclusion:

There are many examples as Rabbi Michael Lerner and Noam Chomsky. They do not realize the damage they are causing to their own people and perhaps to the future of their children. During the Second World War the Germans relied on the co-operation of the Kapos, and today the Anti-Semites feast on the brilliant work of their modern Kapos.
